The Capacity and Ability to Supervise and Protect-Risk (CASP-R) is an evidence informed assessment tool designed to support safeguarding agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals in promoting family safety and reducing vulnerability to harm.
The CASP-R provides a structured, evidence-based professional judgement regarding a caregiver’s capacity to supervise persons of concern, including children and young people, and to protect those in their care from the risk of harm or maltreatment.
